There was a time when women were considered suitable for staying at home and taking care of kids. Care of mother was considered an integral part of child development. Women were considered experts at parenting. They were in charge of teaching many things to the children including socialization and the lessons essential to live a productive life in society.

However, times have changed. For various reasons, ranging from women’s liberation to basic economic reasons, more and more women are working despite having kids. This obviously leads to issues related to managing work and kids.

Since women are considered homemakers and seem to break the mould when they go out and work, the responsibility of managing work and kids invariably falls on them. In such a scenario, life can quickly become very troublesome unless the potential issues are settled out as early as possible.

Women should understand that the initial phase will be the toughest. It is going to be very difficult to manage work and kids when neither party is ready to adjust. Women often face discrimination amongst employers and have to make a forceful stand that they will be in a position to manage their kids and the jobs simultaneously.

Despite this, they are always under trialed and there is just a snide remark waiting round the corner when something goes wrong with the work. Kids who have been used to the love and care of mother all round the clock will naturally rebel at the idea of sharing their mother with work.

Those who have experienced this will tell you that it is just a question of time before kids understand the benefits of having a mother who works. Further, it is just a question of time before the woman finds the groove and manages work and kids effectively. Hence, do not make the mistake of quitting when the going is toughest. Just ride it out so that you enjoy the benefits later.
